The
Georgetown MOPS leadership team has a vision of
building a strong community by putting out roots
of support, encouragement, and friendship among
mothers of preschoolers.
We
desire to meet the unique needs of women in this
specific stage of life where frustration, loss
of identity, isolation, boredom, and lonliness
can creep in when there's no support system
in place. (And even when there is!)
That
said, we're really a lot of fun!
Our
MOPS meetings are a time to celebrate and foster
the growth of each mom. We see each woman as
an individual with unique personalities, gifts,
and passions. We hope to help her explore her
potential and purpose as God's one-of-a-kind
masterpiece. Most of all, it's a place to
make friends and have fun together.
We
get a break from responsibility of motherhood
for a few hours, while our children are lovingly
cared for and taught about God in our Moppets
program. Sometimes we do crafts. Sometimes
we have guest speakers. Sometimes we play
games. We try to mix up the activities so
that everyone likes something we do every
once in a while!
MOPS
isn't a Christian club. It's for any and
all mothers of preschoolers whether they have
great faith or no faith. It's a safe place
for a mom no matter where she is on
that journey.
MOPS
is a place where moms can be real.
Real funny. Real tired. Real blessed.
Real stressed. Whatever a mom's true emotions
of the day, we're here to laugh or cry with her.
After all, we're Mothers of Preschoolers-----
We've
been there; done that!
