You
were created to be connected to God's family.
'His
unchanged plan has always been to adopt us into
his own family by bringing us to himself through
Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure."
Ephesians 1:5 NLT
God
treasures relationships. After all, He is love.
He has existed for all eternity in relationship
and identifies Himself in family terms: Father,
Son and Spirit. And, since you are created in
God's image, it stands to reason your nature is
relational as well. You are made to belong.
When
we place our faith in Christ, God becomes our
Father, and we become His children. Other believers
become our brothers and sisters, and the church
becomes our spiritual family. This is our heritage.
As Rick Warren puts it in the Purpose Driven Life,
"The moment you were spiritually born into God's
family, you were given some astounding birthday
gifts: the family name, the family likeness, family
privileges, family intimate access, and the family
inheritance."
Community,
the state of being connected in family, is a high
value for us at The Sycamore Network. We believe
everyone needs a place to belong and we actively
work to provide rich, secure opportunities to
plug into our church family.
5
Ways to Connect @ The Sycamore Network
- Hang
out for a few minutes before and after one of
our Sunday services to meet some of the folks.
If you hang around, we promise someone will
come up and start a conversation.
- Accept
the pastor's invitation to hook up and get acquainted.
- Participate
in one of our Pastor's Chats we hold once a
quarter. It's a great way to investigate the
vision, values and structure of The Sycamore
Network.
- Join
a LifeGroup. The best way to feel at home in
The Sycamore Network is to actively participate
in a LifeGroup. These groups meet weekly and
provide the best way to develop friendships
and fellowship while maturing in your faith.
- Connect
through service. There are many places of service
within The Sycamore Network. A very good way
to connect with people is partnering with others
in service.
